If you’re on ODSP — or thinking about applying — knowing exactly what ODSP covers can help you access support you may be missing. Many people are surprised to learn just how much is available beyond the monthly income payment. This complete guide covers every major benefit ODSP may provide in 2026.
1. Monthly Income Support
ODSP provides a monthly payment covering a basic needs allowance (food, clothing, personal items) and a shelter allowance (rent, utilities). The total depends on your household size and housing costs.
2. Prescription Drug Coverage
All ODSP recipients are automatically enrolled in the Ontario Drug Benefit (ODB) program, covering most prescription medications at little or no cost.
3. Dental and Vision Care
Basic dental coverage may be available through Healthy Smiles Ontario. Eye exams and glasses may be covered up to a set limit. Ask your caseworker for current maximums.
4. Medical Supplies

5. Assistive Devices
Wheelchairs, walkers, hearing aids, and similar devices may be partially or fully covered through the Assistive Devices Program (ADP) alongside ODSP.

9. Medical Transportation
