Community Holiday Event: Diaper Warehouse & Centre for Dreams

There is no better way to celebrate the festive season than by connecting with our amazing neighbours. Recently, the team at Diaper Warehouse had the absolute privilege of visiting the Centre for Dreams in Markham for a special community holiday event filled with creativity, laughter, and winter magic.

For those who don’t know, the Centre for Dreams (Outbound Link) is an incredible organization dedicated to empowering adults with different abilities. They provide educational and social programs that build independence and confidence. We were thrilled to partner with them to ring in the winter season!

Crafting Joy at our Community Holiday Event

Our goal for this community holiday event was simple: bring people together to create a “Magical Winter” wonderland. We set up tables with coloring sheets, markers, and plenty of air-dry colorful modeling clay, letting imaginations run wild.

The results were nothing short of spectacular. The room was buzzing with excitement as participants crafted their own winter characters. We didn’t just see standard snowmen; we saw unique masterpieces!

• The Grinch: We had some spot-on recreations of everyone’s favorite holiday grump (who definitely didn’t steal our joy!).

• Super-Powered Snowpeople: One of our favorite activities was filling out “character sheets” for the clay creations. We met “John,” a small white snowman who wears a scarf and has the power to “Fly High,” and other fantastic creatures with abilities like “Snap Fly” and super speed.

• Festive Fashion: From Santa hats to Grinch headbands, the festive spirit was on full display.

More Than Just Arts & Crafts

While the clay figures and coloring pages were beautiful, the best part of the day was the connection. Seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces and hearing the laughter around the table reminded us what this season is really about: inclusion and joy.
